Our bagels are all natural and contain NO cholesterol. They are virtually fat-free and hand-made in the traditional way. This means that they are boiled and then baked unlike other so-called 'bagels' that are filled with vegetable oil and steamed. Those 'rolls with holes' are cheaper to produce, but without a doubt, they ain't as good as an itsa bagel.
Our passion and commitment to quality is unyielding. We buy fresh Irish products, from dedicated suppliers and our teams of chefs prepare all of our fillings each day. You won't find processed meats like cubed chicken, square and slimy ham or diced cheese in any of our stores. We wouldn't eat it, so why would we sell it?
No other comparable food company takes their fillings as seriously as we do. We use all natural ingredients and cook everything from scratch.
We don't stock drinks that are filled with artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
We make our soups fresh each day. Our cult-classic, Chunky Vegetable & Lentil is full of goodness: virtually fat free, vegan and gluten free. Our stock is made from organic Marigold stock that does not contain MSG and other false flavourings found in commercial soup varieties. This is why our soups really are full of goodness!
Unlike commercial brands, our hummus is just one example of the lengths we go to: we sort the chickpeas by hand, soak them overnight and then cook until tender. They are then mixed with a little tahini (sesame paste), lemon juice, sunflower oil, garlic, cumin, salt and pepper. We don't bulk it out with cheap oil and flavourings. That's why it tastes so good.
All of our cakes are handmade. End of story. Our brownies have been tried, tested and perfected but like everything else we do we are always game to make it better. We don't use cheap ingredients like margarine and vegetable oils. We use rich chocolate, Irish butter and sugar. Check out the ingredients in cookies and cakes available in other stores - you will see a hodge podge of unpronounceable chemicals that would look better in a lab rather than a larder. Ask yourself why? Because they're cheap to produce and worse still, they offer little nutritional value. Our cakes are old fashioned and baked by hand. This is what makes them taste so good!
